TO THE PROXIMITY CHURCH FAMILY
The health and safety of the Proximity Church family is our top priority. We are informing you that an attendee of an in-person service self-reported a positive test result for COVID-19. The possible date of significant exposure at the church was Sunday, December 20, 2020. Please be advised, that in accordance with confidentiality laws, we are not at liberty to disclose the names of those who self-report positive COVID-19 test results.
The Centers of Disease Control and Infection (CDC) advises that any symptoms of Coronavirus appear between 2 and 14 days from the date of exposure. We are handling this situation with the utmost seriousness. It is important to listen to facts and not respond to fear or rumor. We would encourage you to visit the CDC website, cdc.gov, for additional factual information. The CDC has advised that only those individuals who were in “close contact” with the infected person are required to self-isolate. Individuals who were in close contact are persons who were within 6 feet of the infected individual for a total of fifteen minutes or more.
The infected church attendee will be contacting those individuals who have been identified as potentially being in close contact with that infected individual to alert them to the situation. If you are not contacted, it is because the likelihood of any exposure is low. Visit the CDC website for specific information defining “close contact”: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/quarantine.html
Because we have followed all guidelines on social distancing and wearing personal protective items, the likelihood of anyone becoming infected from this positive case is low. However, if you develop or have developed COVID-19 symptoms, you should call your medical professional and self-isolate. Please note that a negative test result does not preclude you from following self-isolation guidelines.
The church is following protocols from the CDC and CA Department of Public Health and will continue to conduct cleaning of the affected spaces at the church in compliance with CDC Guidelines using approved disinfectants.
We will NOT be holding in-person services on January 3, 2021. We will resume in-person services on January 10, 2021.
During times like these, the safety and well-being of our church family is of utmost concern. We know that this is an uncertain and difficult time and we affirm that you are not alone in this journey.
Let us continue to pray for the Lord’s compassion, mercy, and grace during these times. We also pray for those who have been infected with the virus, for the comfot of the Lord and for a quick recovery. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns, or to self-report a positive COVID-19 test.
In Christ’s Love,
Pastor Ben
